Brown rice is one of the healthiest grains, but the taste can be a little on the bland side.
Here’s how to make brown rice with the help of a few different ingredients.1.
Toss up some brown rice pieces in a mixing bowl and toss it in with a bunch of veggies.
Add in some spices and salt and pepper and toss again.
If you can’t find a large enough bowl, add some water and mix it together with a spoon.2.
Put the rice in the bowl and cover it with some water, about a tablespoon at a time.
Let it sit for about 15 minutes.3.
Turn the rice over and let it sit in the water for about 20 minutes.
It should look like this.4.
Now flip the rice and make sure it is in the pan.
When it is all flipped over, it should look this.5.
Remove the rice from the pan and set aside.6.
Put a little bit of the water from the mixing bowl in the bottom of a pot.
Add about a teaspoon of olive oil, a little salt, and a pinch of pepper.
It will be hot, so just let it simmer for about 5 minutes.7.
Add a bunch more rice in there, about 1/2 cup at a in time.8.
Add the veggies, garlic, and salt.
It’s ok if it looks a little dry.
Take a fork and mash it with a fork.
It’ll be okay.9.
Put some of the brown rice in a bowl, and toss everything together with the vegetables.
Take the rest of the rice out and mix in a bit of water.
If the mixture looks dry, it’s ok.10.
Take some more brown rice and toss that in with the other ingredients.
You may need a little more water, or you may need to add more water.11.
Put everything together in a pot and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
Then add some more water and stir everything together.
You can keep adding more water as needed.12.
When the brown rices are all ready, you can eat it.
I like to eat it with my hands.13.
I don’t like to add salt or pepper to the browns just yet, but once I add them to the pot, I’m in!14.
If your rice is a little sticky, it is ok to toss some rice in with some brown sauce or butter.
I put it in the microwave and it turned out great!
