‘I love this country’: Republican lawmaker says Trump’s ‘toxic’ tweets are ‘tearing my country apart’

In an interview on Fox News Sunday, House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy told host Chris Wallace that President Donald Trump’s tweets “tearing our country apart.”

“When I see the tweets, I just think ‘oh my God, these are going to be the ones that are going down,'” McCarthy said.

“I just can’t believe it.

It’s unbelievable.

And I think people need to look at what we’ve seen and understand that this administration has gone off the rails.”

Trump is under fire from both Democrats and Republicans for his frequent use of Twitter, which has been heavily criticized for its impact on politics.

He’s also been criticized for using his platform to attack former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who has faced a barrage of criticism for her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state.

He has also faced criticism for his decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from a park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
