The Thai baltic brown rice will be one of the national dishes in the United States after a trip to California, where its producers will be showcasing the dish to a group of reporters.
Thailand is also planning to produce its own baltically-brown rice to go with the Thai green curry.
The trip comes as the U.S. seeks to improve its relationship with China, a key trading partner in the region.
A Chinese state-owned media outlet published an article last week saying the country had a long-standing dispute with Thailand over its control of a strategic plateau near the southern border with Myanmar.
It also said the two countries had long fought a land dispute in the area.
The Chinese government has long denied that its forces have occupied the plateau, which it calls the Doklam region.
