Feds investigating alleged breach of FDA food safety guidelines

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has opened an investigation into allegations that a company that makes the fad rice that has become a household staple is knowingly and recklessly failing to test the rice.

According to a statement from the FDA, investigators are now looking into allegations made by a customer who said he ordered a product with an ingredient not approved by the FDA that is contaminated with a chemical found in the rice, which could lead to health problems.

The FDA has also opened an inquiry into a potential food safety breach that was found in a product that is manufactured by the same company that made the fads rice.

The company, known as FDA Rice LLC, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The FDA’s investigation is focused on the alleged breach and is not related to the Food and Drugs Administration’s food safety rules.
